Greg Beato has become one of the lofi sound’s most reliable talents over the last few years, with excellent releases on Apron and L.I.E.S, yet his Breaker 1 2 moniker unfortunately receives less notice. Last year brought a lethal Ekman remix for Berceuse Heroique, but it was his first outing as Breaker in 2013 that we’ve always come back to.

is one of the most nakedly melancholy cuts that Beato’s put his name to, rolling out over pads with a thousand yard stare, cracked snares and a stark, speaker-shattering kick. It’s techno looking out into the void.
