Iranian DJ Kasra V is best known for his NTS show Paradise, but a pair of EPs last year on London’s Make Love In Public Spaces label marked him out as an equally promising young producer. A cinematic approach informs his tracks, injecting house and disco moulds with vintage-leaning melodies and a healthy dose of colour.

One of his best tracks so far is Last Orders from The Persian Prince EP, which leads with noir vocal snips and a menacing guitar lick. It develops quick, a blistering bassline dominating the low-end, a Vangelis-referencing melody floating high above. If the killer sense of mood and drama on this track are anything to go by, there might be a significant new talent around the corner.
