Dutch imprint Viewlexx, helmed by legendary DJ I-f, has been one of the Netherlands’ most reliable sources for electro and italo for twenty years now. One of the releases that put them on the map (apart from this one)  was the V/A Test Pilot Volume 1, a tour-de-force that received a welcome reissue last year. Not only did Test Pilot get repressed, but it also received an unexpected sequel, almost two decades after the original.

The finest cut on Volume 2 was undoubtedly the A1 by Panama Brown, a collaboration between Legowelt and I-f, and the latter’s first original material in a long while. The track in question is one which many may recognise from I-f’s Intergalactic FM mixes. It takes the shape of a thundering slice of electro where a fierce bassline tears back and forth under jagged scifi synths. It’s about as fun and high-octane as electro gets.
